I was ready to hit th road…it had been a few months since my last show and th road was callin…my soul was needin a shake up and i was ready for th challenge….kat n i left on th night train headed for our first stop in florence,sc. we had decided we wanted to make a visit to pearl fryer in bishopville, sc. so the next a.m. we got up early and headed his way..little did i realize what an awesome adventure we were on…
as we turned down pearls road we began to see that his special brand of mojo had spread to neighbors also. all of the yards on pearls street had the pearl look…shrubs, trees, vines…all in artistic shapes..i am not just talkin about disney shapes..i am talkin lines, composition, rhythm, symmetry, angles, curves…god it was amazing!!! a work of art! all this in plants-in a yard! and to top it off there was folk art in th mix..pearls own brand with his main message intertwined in everything he does-LOVE…as if walking around and enjoying his environment wasnt enough, up drove a big black caddy–pearl and his wife were returning from breakfast at the waffle house…pearl has also worked his majic there..the shrubs outside the waffle house make it something special…like no other wh…anyway, we were able to chat with pearl..an awesome man with a sweet but driven spirit. pearl has done things with shrubs and trees that supposedly wasnt possible–the key is he didnt kno it wasnt possible..i love it! i will be posting some pics of this majestical place but they just dont do it justice.
